I love these photos that have been all over the web today from a Cookie magazine Home tour here.
Folks were loving the simple kitchen and talking about how it is silly to go over the top with a kitchen. I agree. I think rustic real kitchens are the best. I love a kitchen that feels like a family actually comes together in it, one that has a table perhaps that looks loved and used. As much as I would love a modern home, I would never be able to give up a wooden table or some shabby chic here and there. I love the open shelves and the glass containers. I love the character. I want a kitchen that looks like me. I grow tired of the same look don't you?
Kitchens tend to be showy and I don't know why?
I am loving concrete in kitchens right now- seems fresh!
loving color and whimsy:
I love that you can create a kitchen that becomes who you are. You can seek out alternatives to big box home improvement stores. You can do this the DIY way. You can! photos via here and here

You know, those DIY projects are really inspiring. I know that a lot of people are thinking of remodeling their kitchens now. With new lookin' kitchens like that, you should be more careful and keen-eyed for cracks and leaks. Oh, by the way. Where'd you get that photo with the taxi? It's an amazing idea, if you ask me.
